It is a very nice looking book, everything on it seems to be high quality. Michael J Sullivan did a fantastic job on the cover art. And the paper is quite heavy.

Of course I started reading as soon as I got the chance.  Maybe its the superb quality of Nathan's reading or the edits from Ridan , or maybe I'm just a malcontent, but reading the first chapter was a little rough. Some of the text seems a little disjointed, which fits the mood in the audio version, but in print I don't think it works that well. Having listened to the book 10+ times some of the rewording really stood out. Thats alright I suppose, but sometimes change is uncomfortable. In the second chapter the flow
picks up and the read was much more enjoyable. Still the parts that I don't remember as being the same really stand out, it will probably be fine for a first timer. Which brings me to chapter Three page 28. I assume its a typo because it completely doesn't fit the rest of the saga that bridge to stern post is twenty kilometers. I thought it was two hundred meters (penciled it in). Anyway on to chapter 4 and the rest of the adventure. I'll do my best to enjoy the story as it is and not be an sludgemonkey about small  changes.
The story is still great, even without Nathan's voice in my head (I tried reading a little out loud to see how I'd do and had to stop for fear of ruining the book). I got two copies and will take the loner to work tomorrow to start spreading the joy.

Ah, I'm glad someone else noticed that. I thought I was going insane. Cheesy Started thinking no wonder Ish is so fit if he has that far to go on VSI!

A story about a twenty km ship would be kinda cool though.

I love the print version.  For some reason my imagination kicks in a lot stronger when I read vs listening. I get a lot better visuals in my mind. Perhaps it's because that is where my focus is rather than listing while I'm doing something else. On the other hand the the audio version has a lot of benefits.  It doesn't work very well for me to read while I drive to work every day.   Wink

It's interesting to see all the little changes. Some I like and some I don't. There is only one that I nearly cried over... "at speed." That description of Mr. Cotton is one of my favorite lines in the book. I missed it sorely. Over all I like the changes.

Keep up the good work Nate.  I'm very much looking forward to hearing Owner's Share soon!  Thanks for sharing with us.
