I'd be curious to know what Ish's share from the Chernyakova auction turned out to be.  IIRC, it was postponed to July, right around the time of Article 37.  Since 6 months pass during the final few chapters and we end on January 1, I'd think he would know by then.

Communication around the ship is so easy, and even ship to beach when the ship is on the beach.

Why doesn't Ish keep in touch with his pals from past times? There's got to be some sort of grapevine, even in space. This story really made me wonder about communications, and the lack thereof.

Where did Cookie wind up? He was clearly planning to retire (invested his funds instead of private trading...). But somehow it has to involve feeding people.
