Hey, you asked for it, you got it.

As long as things stay pretty cool here, we'll keep it as open as we can. If I start getting a lot of spammage, we'll have to see.

Wow... here we are !

I've never been part of the birth of a forum, but here it is. As 'second member and counting' I must say, I look forward to all that will ensue. And Nate, when (not if) you will get spammers, trolls or other forum trouble, you could always look for moderators and such. I hope the need will never arrive, but unfortunately the web is full of stressed-out people...

Let me go explore Nate's world, I'll be in the Kufiri Quadrant if anyone's looking for me Cheesy

This could be fun.  Thanks Nate : )

Had to try out what the "Lamp" Message icon looked like and the "subscript" button for this line.

Hi Nate,

Thanks for opening this forum and let me say I have truly enjoyed all of your stories so far and am anxiously awaiting Double Share.

I have to commend you on your writing style.  It is rare to find a sci fi story that isnt technology or alien driven.  Your stories are like a breath of fresh air due to the fact that they are totally character driven.  Kinda reminds me of some of the Asimov stories i read in my youth.

Keep up the great story telling and thanks for sharing your talents with us.

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the forum and the  Golden Age books.  I drink them down through my earbuds.  I'm getting ready to devour "South Coast" next.  I finished "Full Share" along with you Smiley

I can't wait until I can purchase these books.

Take Care.

I too have completed Full Share, am half-way through South Coast, and have already reloaded Quarter Share back onto my iPod for a second listen.

I must confess that I was a bit skeptical at first about the setting of South Coast possibly not being as glamorous (what? no space ships?) as the X Share series, but I decided to "trust in Nate". It's turning out to be an very engaging story in its own right.

I feel like I should do a JC Hutchins ...
Nah. He can be a bit too noisy at times.

Oooh, Nate, look at this for a while. A bunny with a pancake on its head!

Pssst - all you who say you're enjoying the stories, and are able to do so - Why not make a trip to PayPal, say, via the links on http://podiobooks.com/title/quarter-share , http://podiobooks.com/title/half-share , http://podiobooks.com/title/full-share , http://podiobooks.com/title/double-share, and http://podiobooks.com/title/south-coast ?
These stories ain't gonna write themselves, and we shouldn't be afraid to stoop to bribery to encourage authors to write more stuff. Compared to what I paid per hour of actually-viewed cable TV during the Writers Guild of America strike, the suggested donation amount is a bargain.

Be careful. Nate might be compelled to use "Bradbury's Defense"
Quote
How to defend the plot holes in the Matrix
I am reading Imperial Earth by Arthur C. Clarke. While I was checking to see how many pages were in the book (yes, I'm lame) I came across an Afterword where Clarke talks about how some people pointed out that he made "mistakes" in the science of the book. He says he uses "Bradbury's Defense". This is a great one for when you get in a conversation about how a great book or movie had obvious flaws in plot or feasibility, or if someone is talking to you about how episode #2g23 of Star Trek clearly shows blah blah blah but in episode #3g33 there is a contradictory blah blah - anyway...

One dreadful boy ran up to me and said:
"That book of yours, The Martian Chronicles?"
"Yes," I said.
"On page 92, where you have the moons of Mars rising in the east?"
"Yeah," I said.
"Nah," he said.
So I hit him.
