Ok - it's almost a tradition.

Someone mentioned movie/TV rights, and while honestly, I can't quite see Quarter Share or Half Share working as movies/TV shows, let's see if we can't cast them *ANYWAY*!

Ishmael Wang - earlier in the series, I can't quite get a feel for someone - but for Captain's Share and Owner's Share, I nominate Wil Wheaton.

Captain Alys Giggone - Erin Gray.

Any others?

I think I like Ludwig's look better than Aiken's.  But yeah, that's definitely the kind of look to go for!

She's way way too old by now - but I like the look of that red-headed yeoman in the first Star Trek Pilot - The Cage - the one with Pike - for Stacy Arellone

I was thinking maybe Zoe Saldana for that role.

Alys McKendrick Giggone I would cast Jane Lynch, Maryl Streep or Helen Mirren.

Maybe, although I think Stacy is specifically mentioned as a redhead.  I'll have to give the stories a listen again.

Oh, yes - one of the Grand Ol' Ladies.  Whoever doesn't get it can be that Captain Ish ends up chatting up later on.

Frank: Harry Dean Stanton or Tom Skerritt

Alys McKendrick Giggone: Dame Judi Dench or Fionnula Flanagan or Stockard Channing

"...that Captain Ish ends up chatting up later on" : Faye Dunaway or Kim Cattrall

First Mate   David Burnside: Leonardo DiCaprio or Kiefer Sutherland

Phillip "Pip" Carstairs: Cillian Murphy or Joseph Gordon-Levitt

First Mate Benjamin Maxwell: Nestor Carbonell or John Glover

Either works very well - I think Stanton gets my vote, though.  I really do like Tom Skerritt, but I just don't get the feel of him matching Frank Wang.

Alys McKendrick Giggone: Dame Judi Dench or Fionnula Flanagan or Stockard Channing

Dame Dench & Ms. Falnagan both present too old - Stockard Channing is a much better age-match.  I really need to go through and make notes on physical cues we're given.

"...that Captain Ish ends up chatting up later on" : Faye Dunaway or Kim Cattrall

Faye, again, I think is too old.  Remember - Ish was a Captain in his 40s, and it wasn't that unusual.  Kim Cattrall is excellent, though.

First Mate   David Burnside: Leonardo DiCaprio or Kiefer Sutherland

I vote Kiefer Sutherland here.  While he can do a wonderfully upright person, he does have a good bit of smarm in his look.  DiCaprio doesn't have the right feel to my tastes.

Phillip "Pip" Carstairs: Cillian Murphy or Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Gordon-Levitt, for sure.  And a damn good choice he is, I think!

First Mate Benjamin Maxwell: Nestor Carbonell or John Glover

I'm going to go with Carbonell, here, because looking at Glover, I think he'd do a *WONDERFUL* job as Francis the environmental tech - he's got that go-and-do-it kinda scientist look, kinda like Indiana Jones.
